Level Designer & Sound designer

Responsibilities

  • Own the level design process for the tutorial level from concept to final product

  • White boxing and iterating on a level that will have about 8 minutes of gameplay

  • Prototyped multiple small puzzle & terrain mechanics using Blueprints in Unreal engine 4 

  • Created all the scripted events and mechanics in the level using Unreal Engine's Level Sequencer

  • Composed a theme song and its variation for different level themes.

  • Created sound effects for all systems in game

1. Confirm Level Pillars

3. Draw 2D Layout Sketches

Create preliminary 2D sketches to visualize the level's structure and spatial relationships.

4. Constructed and Iterate on Whitebox 

Build a simplified 3D version of the level to test gameplay mechanics and spatial dynamics. And refine the white box design to ensure it effectively embodies the level's core pillars

Prepare documentation detailing the necessary art assets to support the level's design.

6. Adjust Art Assets to Ensure Design Intent

Modify and fine-tune art assets to accurately reflect and enhance the intended design vision. Including: light source navigation, collision boxes and related issues.

7. Conduct Level Testing

QA & Playtest sessions. Perform thorough testing to identify and address any issues, ensuring a polished player experience.
